Founded in the late 1970s at a kitchen table in Lakeland, Florida, C.C. “Doc” Dockery and Tom Petcoff created Summit to provide workers’ compensation programs for trade associations—a niche virtually untouched in Florida at the time. With a core belief in doing the right thing, Doc and Tom began investing in people. They sought employees and independent agents who they believed would give a job their all—a Summit tradition that continues to this day.
